My name is Jimson, pronounced like Simpson. No, I’m not related to Jessica Simpson. I’m a small fan of hers, had a small crush on her when I was younger. I don’t anymore, but she’s quite hot i(n) m(y) o(pinion).

I’m 32 years old, born & raised in Canada. I’m Chinese, I can speak English & Cantonese (with no accent might I add). My parents are from Vietnam, but only my dad’s side mainly spoke Vietnamese. Never got the chance to learn.

Although my workplace is multicultural, when I first started working; there were many Vietnamese people. Most of them have retired now, including my mother. She got me into it & its been over 5 years now. What kind of job do I do? I’m an operator. No, not a telephone operator; that’s too boring for someone like me. I like to be active. I work in the physical labour; assembly line – (machine) operator. We make auto parts. Most of ’em are hinges & whatnot. Very light-weight, yet very fast paced. There’s some heavier products & the line I work is the heaviest one. The whole product when assembled completely is about 36 pounds.

Ironically, I’ve never been a car person. You probably don’t believe me right? Most guys (including my brother) have knowledge of types of cars & all that. Not me. Its true. Occasionally, conversation sparks about cars & I’m clueless. I tell my co-workers that my brother drives a Nissan race car & they ask me, “What model? My response? “Uh….no idea”. They obviously laughed. Trust me, remembering “Nissan” is the best of my ability. My general knowledge of cars have improved over the years but, I still don’t know the various models.

I can only name some of the car manufacturing companies & products our company makes. You know, like: Ford, Tesla, BMW, Lexus, Chrysler, Honda..etc the list goes on. I may have worked all over the company but, I work in 2 major lines: Ford & Tesla. I won’t go any further to discuss any other details. Not that it’s confidential, but I’m sure I’ve bored you enough already. Even if you aren’t, I am ;).

However, I do feel satisfied that I’ve been given the chance to work on the Tesla line. I mean really. It’s Tesla. The most expensive car, running without gas. I will say this though, this is one of the few exceptions. I don’t know for which model we make (X or S), but certainly for one of ’em

See? I’m not lying. I do have my limitations when it comes to cars. Its getting better.
